Question:
We are looking at the wave series and are not sure if these will just fit into our existing holes which measure 54/55mm. please explain the difference between the rose and the backset, our house is approx 10 years old, are these handles fairly standard sizes. what is the strike measurement 22mm? we are unsure of the terminology used in your description. Can you email any fitting instructions?
Answer:
A 54mm spindle hole is a standard size and has been for the last 20 odd years so your existing holes will be fine. The backset is the distance from the edge of the door to the centre of the spindle (centre of the part where the lever is attached to the rose). All of our budget leversets, being the Olympic, Wave and Zeus as well as all of our deadbolts can be used to retrofit since these all have a standard backset of 60mm and a spindle hole of 54mm.

I didn’t answer what the strike measurement is above question. This is actually the size of the hole you need to drill into the jamb to accommodate the tongue of the latch.
The keyless deadbolt and leverset we have just added to our range also have a standard backset of 60mm and a spindle hole of 54mm, so you can use these also to retrofit to your entrance or office door.
