Installation of a Magnetic Door Stop

A magnetic door stop consists of two parts. The stand with the magnet and the catch that gets attached to the door. Built into the catch (DSM04 has it in the stand) is a spring to absorb the movement force of the door when its being closed, this provides a similar function as the rubber does on a traditional door stop.

Installation

The stand gets mounted on the floor or on the skirting. Our DSM01, DSM02 and DSM03 can be floor and skirt (wall) mounted and the DSM04 can only be floor mouinted. The catch gets mounted to the door utilising supplied screws. The stand gets mounted onto a timber floor using the screws and for mounting into concrete or similar floors rawlplugs are also included.

To install you unscrew the bottom plate of the stand and mount on floor or wall, for wall mounting ensure that you are high enough to allow the catch to fully fit onto the door. Screw the stand onto the backplate and mark the centre position of where the magnet of the stand touches the wall. Unscrew the catch backplate and attach to door. Screw the catch onto the backplate and you’re done.
